I have a 2016 ram 1500, I had custom files made for me by my tuner and I uploaded those files onto the trinity 2 with no problem until I try to upload it onto the truck, it says “An error has occurred!
Failed while preparing to write tune to vehicle.
Press CONTINUE to reset the device.” I have tried multiple times and it’s the same problem, before I got my custom tunes, I did restore to stock and read backup, got the files to my tuner and he sent me the custom ones, I can’t figure out what the problem could be, my pcm works fine, I have gotten custom files from my tuner in the pass and it worked out good but now I’m having this issue, please I need helppp. Thank you.

can you confirm if the canned tunes or a previous custom tune will load?

Re: Trinity 2 won’t upload custom tune onto the truck
I did get a new unlock pcm, the one I had before this one was unlocked too and it also loaded in the custom tune until I try to retune it, it didn’t wanna read backup and it wasn’t communicating with the vehicle so I bought a new one which is the one I have now, this new pcm does communicate with the truck and I can read backup I have not tried loading tunes that already come with the trinity 2 onto this new pcm, I do have a other programmed tuner the i3 diablo, i updated that one before i connected it to the vehicle and its says “some ECUs in this vehicle are not supported, please tap to continue to proceed with tuning or unplug and update this unit” I don’t wanna assume it would be the pcm when I just bought it and it communicates with the trinity 2, but could it be the case? I updated the trinity 2 once again and I still come across the same issue.

ok, wait, thats a huge piece of info.
you replaced the pcm?
was it programmed to the vehicle?
really should have restored stock to the first pcm then installed new pcm, then tuned it.
post the info.xml file from the t2 drive please.

Re: Trinity 2 won’t upload custom tune onto the truck
Yes I replaced the first pcm and yes it was programmed to the custom files I received and the part that got me in this whole situation was when I had install the 91 octagon I believe that’s what it’s called that’s already in trinity 2 I had messed with the speedlimiter and when i realized that the truck was acting out like it didn’t know what it was doing that’s when i deleted that 91 octagon and the customs files and try restore backup but it kept failing to do so and it ended up not communicating with the vehicle at all, so that’s when I bought the new pcm that my tuner said was fine to do and to get him the new backup files off the new pcm which I did but the new custom files wouldn’t load into the truck, also I do still have the first pcm with me I have both. Can I send you the info.xml file through your Gmail, I’m currently using my phone thank you.
