07 Predator and Boost

Is there any way to increase the boost through the Predator tunes? I love the power and perf, but EGT's are a bit high for comfort.

Right now I get 28 psi at WOT with the Predator and the Puck. I tried a boost fooler, but it created hellacious turbo lag, and the WOT pressures didn't seem to go up any. Maybe 1-2 psi at times, but with the turbo lag it definitely was not worth it.

I have heard that the stock turbo can put out 35 psi without overspeeding the turbine or overheating the intake charge, which would bring down the EGT's 100-200 degrees. Is there a way to get more boost through the programs?

with my current set up on perfromance stack I get about 37psi, and i have hit 1350* befor the turbo at WOT... maybe you have some thing going on in your truck that is not predator related, list your mods in your sig so we can all see what you are working with

Hey Robert dont worry you'll get a lot more than 35 psi lol but kw5.9 is on the right track.
Factory boost levels from 04.5 and up go as high as 35 psi, 43+ on RKL with enough load.
Your air filter is dirty, or there is a leak somewhere after the turbo in the intake piping before the intake horn. Check your fitting for your boost gauge, did you recently lose a smalll pet? maybe there is a parrot in your muffler lol
all kidding aside tho it should be pretty easy to locate a boost leak, check your intercooler tanks as well because they are prone to failure in the later years but im pretty sure they usually fail in a very non-discreet way if they do at all.

Maybe pull the pressure box and reset truck to stock and take it for a few runs, to see if it isn't a wiring or programming bug.

my 305 HO will pull 28 psi stock, even with my boost fooler (manual wastegate) cranked open, in perf i get 35 and in extreme RKL i can eclipse 40, later model years are always good for a little more

Try the non stacker tunes if your brave, from what i gather thats the hot ticket. its fairly common for just a predator on RKL to outrun a pred/puck stack on a stack tune, so try just the predator maybe as well.

Remember that egts are kept in check by burning all the extra fuel *with* a proportionate *increase* in airflow. increasing boost pressure on the stocker just runs it past its efficiency range. the air charge rushes in at higher temperature, basically negating the gain in pressure. The hotter combustion charge is than fired and spent gases plow right into the turbo, jamming up before the turbine and spiking drive pressures. truth is 28 psi at 3200 rpm or 40+ psi at 2500 rpm will both be pullin on ya, but after that the turbo is just too damn small for any real fun

whats too high for comfort? at 40 psi in 5th or 6th gear i can hit 1500 degrees in the span of one gear, most of the time i look at it while its on its way down through 1600, because i kinda forget to watch it while im racing lol
i've seen 1600 deg enough times i can put my girlfriend in the truck and let her peg the gauge without fear of... the motor i guess

My boost fooler will give me 45 lbs at wot. easy and the egts are lower with it then without. I don't notice the lag your talking about because of the fooler.

42lbs is just about right for me (usually 1500*), once I hit that I can hold it there and the EGT's drop.
