Diablo Sport i2 problems

Post by stanleyeide »

Hello,
I picked up a Diablo Sport i2 for my 2014 Ram 1500. I've tuned several of my previous vehicles without any issues or the need for updates before installation. So, I was eager to tune my truck right away in the parking lot, but it displayed "vehicle not supported."

When I got home, I downloaded the software, but unfortunately, the tuner froze halfway through the update. I tried again, and this time the computer indicated that the device was up to date. However, when I plugged it back into my truck, I encountered the same "vehicle not supported" message.

I went back to the computer, but there’s nothing I can do since the tuner claims to be up to date. Although the tuner has an update file built into it, it keeps showing an error when I check for updates. I'm at a loss; the tuner keeps freezing, and I'm seriously tempted to smash it to pieces. For over $500, I don’t understand why Diablo Sport can’t ensure the tuner is updated before shipping.

I’ve tried calling tech support, but I keep getting placed on hold, and I’m not willing to wait for 30 callers ahead of me. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

please post the info.xml file from the i2 drive so we can check it out.
Its not uncommon to need to update the vehicle, and there's no way we can know what your vehicle needs until we connect to it, hence the need to update after connecting to the vehicle in some cases.

fwiw, i3 sells for around $450, i2 has been out of production for 4-5 years now.
