2015 Silverado 1500 5.3L AFM Delete

Post by Brandon_E »

So I'm looking for a little guidance here.

I have the 5.3L L83 motor. Everything on the truck is stock, except the K&N Air Intake. I am looking to do the full AFM delete, with a standard Cam and LS7 lifters, to replace the OEM AFM lifters.

Once everything physical is installed, will I have to mess with trucks tune, at all? And will the Diablo i3's canned tunes be sufficient? I am not well versed when it comes to custom tunes, so I want to know what to expect, once parts are swapped.

I know the Diablo i3 has the AFM delete option, which is the reason im going to do this in the first place. Any information in regards to this would be greatly appreciated.

yes, you should be able to use the afm off option in the tuner to support the delete.

You will need to get a custom tune done... there are a couple of codes that need to be disabled for the AFM/DOD, as well as airflow/fueling adjustments, etc... which you can not do with the programmer itself...

I can definitely get you hooked up with a custom tune... I've done thousands of those trucks over the years, including my own, and do them weekly...
