Swap back to original ECU

Post by drksd4848 »

Hi everyone,

Very quick question: I happen to have my original ECU and my unlocked ECU. Let me throw this out there.

Say I install the unlocked ECU and begin to tune, and then disaster strikes, the tune fails to upload and I can’t restore to stock tune. Would I be able to just simply remove the unlocked PCU and reinstall the original ECU with no issues? (outside of triggering to dreaded P 1400 code.)

Ugh… what are the odds of that happening? Sounds like I should avoid putting the transmission tune on it.

slim to none, I only mentioned it because i didn't want you to perceive that you were 100% backed up, but chance of either failing is very, very low.
Good voltage is key.

Jeeze… I almost had heart failure!

My voltage while I’m running down the highway is 14.2 V. That should be enough right?

it voltage while flashing that is the thing to watch.
if the battery is weak or in question, or has been sitting for a while, connecting a charger will alleviate any concerns.
