To much boost in 4th gear.

Post by keno5366 »

Hey whats up guys, I have a few questions for you. I installed the predator yesterday on my stage 2 srt and noticed a big difference on the butt dyno. 3rd gear held right about 20 psi and felt strong. 4th gear though boosted way past 20 psi in the later rpms. How do I correct that. Should I try adjusting the wga. or should I try changing the boost on the dsp? If so what increment should I lower it to keep third the way it is but lower the boost in 4th gear?

Thanks

Did you get the crom update that was released on Dec 2nd? I believe this update addresses that.

Yeah, still have the stage 2 wga. I have revision 11 on mine. Is there a newer update?

If you have a stock PCM and a stage 2 wastegate that is your problem... You'l have to post your backup here and I'll re-adjust the WGDC map for you then you'll be good.

If you have a stage ecu you shouldn't be having this issue... Turno the boost down by 5% from 3K-7k

I know this summer i was boosting 20 psi ... with about 5-8mm preload on my stage 2 w-g, If you have more preload than that... you should just lower it a bit ..... and you gonna avoid ptb as well ....

sweet. Worked good. Boost levels are all good. Turned it down 5% and that seem to have done the trick. The power delivery felt inconsistent though. With the stage 2 setup and the boost turned down to 5%, do I have to worry about running lean?

No. Can I make do with out it, or do I need a wideband? I used the data logger but get kind of confused with the afr. I need to import my original tune to my pc. I'm still having trouble getting the dsp to comunicate with my laptop.

The A/F on the data loger is the target A/F. You really need to get a wideband if your going to play with the boost so you can see your current A/F.. Look on ebay for the cheapest buy it now including shipping, I think mine was like 225 shipped. Very good investment for your car.
