Had to re-install factory tune...

Post by corny40 »

The car had to go into the shop today, so I re-installed the factory tune.

My question is, When I get it back and go to re-install a tune, will it be just like starting from scratch?

Will I have to do a factory back-up again, and change the parameters I had adjusted for my "personalized" tune?

Will there be any way to know if they updated/re-flashed my PCM?

Thanks! :D

yes, it will be just like the very first time you used it... select the tune to install, it makes a backup, select the tranny type, you'll have to modify the parameters again, install the tune, etc etc... don't remember the EXACT order, but you get the drift...

as far as knowing if they updated your ECM/TCM or not, you can't tell... but ask them.

Yes, it will be like starting from scratch.
The tool will take a new backup.
You could try looking at the calids before you go to see if they change after you get it back to see if they reflashed the car.

Thanks

Too late. It's already at the shop.

Would it hurt anything if I asked them to give me the latest update to the PCM???

Thanks!

Hey Lew, have you been to NAIOA yet to see what happened to my car?
