Mileage will be about the same between the two.

Yep.
So by a cost standpoint the 87 should save you the most money, simply because it's a cheaper fuel.

91 octane will give you the best power for towing. i run 87 for daily driving and 91 when towing (usually a tank before a trip)

i use the 2x4 method for best mpg.
take a piece of 2x4, cut it to about 6" in length, and place it under the gas pedal. you can use untreated wood, since its cheaper.
works great!

I have a 08 Sierra Denali, so would the 87 tune give me the same MPG as the Diablo tune? Thanks

using a HO engine, should you even being using 87 gas? I know it will run and retard the timiing to compensate, but lowest i've ever put in mine was 89.
I haven't been around here long enough to know what is in the 87 tune, but if the engine runs best on 91, wouldn't be hard to push more power out of it from 87? i may be WAAAYYY out in left field...someone please give me some info if I am

We have developed tunes that allow you to safely run 87 octane fuel in these trucks while still increasing performance.

I guess I'll give the 87 tune a try and see what kind of MPGs I get. Thanks
