u7130 cruise/idle issues

Post by gem »

I,ve gotten a u7130 for my o5 dodge about a month ago, I love the performance and drivability of the truck, however I,ve had to put the stock back in because of cruise surging and poor idle issues. The dealer has tried to help as much as possible but no luck, he programmed in the latest downloads but it didn,t change anything. Has anyone has these issues and a solution or ideas, thanks.

Predator and Puck or just predator?
Have you replaced your fuel filter recently?

Just the predator. Filter has been changed every oil change (done in Dec.) It will also stick at high rpms if revved up in park, I have to shut it off to get it back to idle. Problems seem a little less noticable in tow tune but still there.

I have much the same issues but not the surge in cruise thankfully. When I hit the throttle in park it will go up to 3grand and mess around for a few seconds, seems like an eternity, but then will come back down. I have reached for the key but never had to turn it off. They do idle not so good as well, and worse if its cold and goes into high idle.

Im having the same problem here with the U7131, and i have posted about it in the past...but the one thing i noticed about the high idle is it is almost non egistant once my truck has reached operating temperature, i was under the inpression the the rough idle was just due to the timing the predator is using to achive the power gains, i think it sounds awsome with my magnaflow exhaust...i thought this was normal. if not please let me know.

i actually think that when u rev it up in park it sticks at high rpms in all of the newer dodges. because mine does that, my friends does that and they are both stock so far. hope this helps

I feel it has to do with the amount of fuel that gets dumped in. It has to burn it off. Not like a gasser where you cut off air and the fire goes out. I am just careful not to rev while its sitting. Only real downer is I can't show of my exhaust note sitting.

When I rev mine in park it will stay revved till it runs out of diesel or I shut it down. it won,t do anything remotely like this stock. However this is the least of my problems, the truck will surge 2 or 3 times Every Time I let off the throttle to slow down and on Every hill I encounter, making it too annoying to drive with the Diablo in. Johan, I need some advise with this other than returning it, thanks
