Anyone have experience using their predator to tune a A4 transmission with a stall? I'm going to put in a 3000 rpm stall and maybe someone can give me a jump start to the tuning of their trans. after the install.

I'm doing the same thing....I ordered the performabuilt trans with the 3000 billet stall. What did you have to do with the tune??

i would assume get a custom tune from Mike, where he can lock your converter at a certain speed, and unlock it at WOT. i dont think your tool has the end user capability to do that.... Mike can hook that up though.
i have mine locking at part throttle about 55 mph... and unlocked fully at WOT. may want him to lower line pressure at part throttle shifting as well... as the aftermarket trans will have different fluid flow and accumulator springs/servos than your stocker.

boola1341,
I have a performabuilt level II w/billet 3000 stall in my garage with very similiar mods as yours. Mike sent me a tune...but i'm waiting to hear back from him on verifacation of a couple of codes being deleted P0757 and P0751 and a lock up of the TC above 40mph at part throttle and 4th gear. If we work together we can probably get things working right...i'll PM you my phone number.

Mike,
performabuilt trans. already raised the pressure...copied from their web site:
Another way is to turn the set screw in the end of the PCS 1/4 turn clock wise. This too will increase the line pressure by approximately 5 percent across the board but again will not allow you to exceed the Max line allowed by the pressure regulator. This change is a good way to improve clutch apply and can help with converter clutch chatter slip in some cases. However, it should never be turned more than 1/4 turn and should never be used in conjunction with the tuning increase. Not because of the risk of the line going over max PR allowed, but because combined they will make the part throttle shifts way to aggressive and place to much stress on hard parts when its not needed at part and low throttle conditions. All our units do have the PCS set screw turned 1/4 turn and we like the tuning pressure tables left stock. But in no case, no matter what the adjustment, will these changes allow the MAX pressure to exceed the max pressure allowed by the PR valve. And, in fact, the 5 percent is well with in the tolerance levels allowed by GM and their limits for various applications.

I'm still waiting for delivery on my trans which is also the level 2. I'm kinda thinking of getting it professional tuned with LSX in Richmond Va. I'm still going to use the predator in case I have code trouble. Hopefully I'll have the trans in and tuned in 3 weeks.
