Hello everyone! I am new so just go with me on this. I was going to get a CAI for my GT but I was told by DS to use any type but the one that has a 90 bend. My Gt runs GREAT and see no problems. I do have a K&N for know and I took the snorkel out and trimed the holder also. Do ya'll think I need to keep the same set up or getting a real CAI will help me get cooler air??? Thanks.......Chris

As long as you use the stock maf housing with a filter clamped directly to it you should be fine. Anytime you put anything other than that in front of the maf it usually messes with the signal. You can change the pipe between the maf and throttle body without issue also.

Thanks Kevin...I was looking at getting JLT type becouse you reloc. the MAF and the filter to the firewall and it is a stright shot from filter to MAF. NO 90 before the Maf.....Will this set up yeld true HP with canned tune?

There are no gains worth speaking of, with a cold air intake on a 99-04 mustang 4.6. If you want the look, go for it. If you want performance, do exhaust and gears first.

i wouldnt worry about the CAI, no gains really... have you looked into an intake manifold spacer?
