u7193 update

Post by 04z71 »

I currently have the 2.10 version of the u7193 for my 04 5.3. I saw on the website that it says Software Update with receipt and within warranty is a charge of only shipping to get it updated. Is this right?

I still have my receipt and i purchased it within the 2 year warranty from Premier Performance so would it only cost me shipping to get it updated to the new 9xxx version?

no... for the new 9rXX version tools, those get new hardware and functionality... so it would cost you the $99 as detailed in the upgrade thread...

the "free" updates are for the current tool... for instance, if yours was only on revision 2.01, you could get it updated to the 2.10 revision for free...

you already have the latest and greatest update that is available for that older predator - 2.10 is it.

to get the new predators on the 9rXX revisions and the new functionality, you have to pay the $99 upgrade charge, + shipping... because that is a whole new hardware upgrade, not just a software update.

I just recieved my "new" 7193 with the hardware update. Which instructions do I use to download the current tune to a PC. I try to download GMLS2Interface installer and GM03 04 Predator Interface 108 and they come up with "web page cannot be found" although the 99-02 comes up correctly. Any ideas?

New U7193 will use DSDL, not PC interface.

Thanks for the info Lew and Mikel. I wanted to download the original backup to the PC. Followed the E40 instructions but I do not have a "Export Tune" choice. Is there another method or is the backup file not saved? I only have the "import custom tune" & "erase custom tune" available. Any suggestions??

I think you may have to use the DSdownloader program now. I could be wrong though

z50 - yeah, as Mike said, you have to use the DSDownloader app to export the tunes from the predator to your pc... you can get that from your product support download page...

HDJoe, that 9rXX number is your revision/version of your predator...
