Netbook for logging data?

I've been looking at netbooks (Asus or HP) and I'm curious to know if anyone's tried using one of these things for logging data. I have a nice desktop, so I don't want/need to spend a lot of money for a full-blown laptop. Just looking for something that's easy to take places with the hopes of using it to log data with the Predator.

Make sure it runs on xp and not vista, or you wont be able to use the DSLogRedux. Dont know the diff between a regular lap top and a netbook.

DSLogRedux works on regular Vista - but not on Vista 64...

the problem is between Microsoft's .Net programming framework and the VISTA 64 OS. This is NOT a DSLogRedux issue...

yes, the netbook should work fine... again, as long as it's not running Vista 64...

No Vista on the netbooks I've been looking at. They both run XP. I was just curious to know if a netbook would be able to keep up while trying to log data. The fastest processor at the moment in netbooks is 1.6GHz, but you can get 2GB of RAM. I'm in no hurry to buy one though.............since I can't even use the Predator on my truck right now due to lack of support

I bought a acer aspire 1 to do this very thing.Haven't done any logging yet as I want to install the cold air intake first (GM version)

but this machine should be quite capable of it.I will post further when I get to the logging part.
