I have an 06 cummins with the predator that lopes baddly on high ilde. Its so bad you can smell raw feul in the exhaust. The lope goes away if you toch the throttle or take the tune completly out of the truck. I've tryed it on all setting but the top ones. I live in northern alberta and it lopes on high idle from around -5 c right down to -45 c. The truck dynoed last summer at 496 hp with the tuner and a cold air intake and 5 inch exhuast, so i'm happy with the power. But this tuner is making me look BAD. I do diesel performance for a liveing my G/f drives/owns this truck so when it doesn't run right I look very bad. Is diablo sport fixing this problem or do I need to get rid of it? Oh yea and I have the last update available from like 2 weeks ago.

I think they should give Johan a pair of mittens and a plane ticket and send him up here for a few weeks in the winter. Maybe they would believe us when we say this stuff. I have the 7130 but it does the same thing. Every winter I have had it, I come on here and read these same threads, just dated differently.

If this has been an issuse i would be willing to work with you guys to find a solution. I'm willing to try some custom programes or what ever it may take to figure this out.

Ideally what we need is to get a truck in the shop that exhibits this issue so we can see what it is doing and how to fix it.

Something tells me that you'll have a hard time duplicating sub-zero temps in Florida. When I worked for GM, we had snapshot data recorders that a customer could press a button and record all the data at the time the problem was occurring. My truck also will start a weird lope that almost sounds like a blown alcohol dragster at idle, if I bump up the idle using the cruise buttons it's fine. I could see this being a problem for guys using command start systems, otherwise bump it up and be done with it.

theres an idea. Find me a way to send you some the data stream from when the truck lopes and i'd be glad too. Wait i belive the shop i work at has one of them little data recorders you can put in a customers car for a day, think i could record with that and send the data to you guys so you could try to find a fix for the problem.

I'll have to ask Johan if there is something he can have you guys log to maybe clue him in on whats causing this.

Mine does it also, only on the two extreme tunes, and only when sitting for a few... im thinking maybe in some way the torque converter taking a dump on me is loading the engine up... i will find out as soon as the new tranny is installed..

I guess we will have to take this up again next nov. We are finally getting warm weather, the snow is going. yee haa.
A few weeks and I will service the bike for the summer and high idle will not be my concern for a while.

Best option I have seen here it to do a full restore, go to options/troubleshooting/restore original backup, then reinstall the tune and see if clears up.
Thanks

Doesn't work, I've reloaded my original tune a number of times when going in to the dealership. The problem shows up on every re-load of the Diablo tunes. It's something that wasn't there back in the "tune on the fly days", it appeared right around the time the speed limiter was freed up. The best way to describe it is that it almost sounds like it's trying to do the 3 cylinder idle but doesn't increase the idle speed at all. It will do it quite regularly anytime the truck is left to idle for even just a few minutes in park ( hot or cold ) as long as the outside air temp is below 0 degrees celcius or 32 degrees for you guys.
