Couple of quick questions...

1. How do you turn off the auto headlight function on a 2005 Magnum RT? When using the Predator, I know it says to leave the lights off during a writing process, but when I turn the keys "off" and the "on" when it asks, the lights automatically turn on, I don't want to cause a fluctuation by turning them off manually, so I just let them go on their own... How do I turn this off?

2. During night time driving, the dash lights fluctuate and it is pretty annoying. I thought there was a TSB for this which you have to flash the PCM with a newer firmware version... When you do the DCX Calibration, isn't that what you are updating? I think my PCM version is 3.14 or something like that and when I did my DCX update, that didn't change... Still have the fluctuating gauge lighting... I cleaned and tightened any and all grounds and alternator is just fine... It happens mostly when cruising...

What auto headlight function are you talking about? Do you mean the daytime running lights or do you have the automatic head lights.

If it's the automatic headlights then there is a switch position that turns them off. All the way to the left (counter clockwise) is auto. One notch to the right is off.

If it's the daytime running lights then they should turn off whenever the car is in park AND the parking brake is applied.

I don't know if the Predator can help with either of your issues but I do know that both have been addressed on custommagnums.com which you are a member of, right? Jump over to CM.com and search there. You should find your answer.

The lights will always come on for most vehicles during writing, thats normal.
No idea on the dash light issue though, it is possible the dealer needs to update some other module for that.

Okay, as long as it is normal for the lights to come on... As I said, I wasn't TOO worried about it because they don't turn off during the process, causing a minor spike of voltage...

They aren't automatic headlights nor are they DRL's... I don't have either option... They are the safety night time lights that let you see your way to your door after you get out of your car...

next to the light switch know there is a dial switch that controls the dome lights and the dashboard brightness. Roll it all the way down. It turns off the interior dome lights completely and dims the dashboard lights all the way.

the headlights staying on after you turn your engine off is a separate feature.

If the headlights are on and you turn off the engine with them on, an alarm will chime reminding you to turn your headlights off. In this situation the headlights will stay on for a period of time after the engine is off.

If you turn the headlight switch off before you cut the engine, the courtesy feature will disable and the lights won't stay on at all.

If you have the EVIC computer, you can control the headlights when exiting the car. You need to use the steering wheel controls to make the changes.

No EVIC....

You can set it up with a Starscan too, make some friends at the dealer and maybe they will let you play around with it.
