Car Runs Like Crap!Predator Won't Work, I'm Going Gray

Hi guy's, I am posting to you all in an act of almost desperation :( I purchased my dream car (99 vette) 3 weeks ago from a chevy dealer. I was able to purchase this vehicle because it was priced extremely cheap but had a bad hesitation problem at and around 2500 rpm. I called a few mechanics and they told me the problem was probably due to the intake and long tube headers. For the price of the car plus the price of a tuner I was looking at purchasing the car I had always dreamed of for a price I could never have. That was the dream..... 3 weeks later after countless hours on the line with tech support and countless hours arguing with my nearest chevy dealership I am no closer to getting my problem resolved or having a 500$ piece of equipment I purchased work. When I first used the predator my ecm calibration was incompatible, Now after an upgrade from gm it is still incompatible. I really hope somebody reading this forum could help because I am on the verge of going insane. Thanks in advance!

Did the unit take a backup of your vehicles original file?
If so all you have to do is post that here and we will include it.
Also what is your VIN and what does the predator say on the screen for calid #'s when it reports the incompatible message.

Wow, thanks for the lightning quick response!
here are the answers to your questions
1G1YY32G8X5131139 vin
Also on a second note, the screen on the predator crapped out so I can only read the cal id's and sort of what they stand for.

there's a knob on the back of the predator, that's for the screen contrast... try turning that knob to see if the screen gets any better for ya...

Stop playing with the knobs Lew..... It is actually a recessed screw...

Kudo's to the tuners at diablo sport! The predator worked and i installed the tune. Everything is fine except I'm still getting a hesitation at 2500 rpm, any idea's?

describe EXACTLY what the car is doing as far as this hesitation. i am assuming its an M6 car.....

maybe you can do some logging/driving with it and post it up also.

Yes it is an M6 and I actually already have a log. The symptoms are as follows, car starts fine, idles fine, when I accelerate everything is normal until I get to 2500 rpm, the car hesitates and bogs and then picks up again. I'm not sure if the type of driving in the log is what your looking for but hopefullly it will be helpful.
p.s: no codes being thrown

mine had this problem a long time ago! i changed plugs, wires and coils, that didn't work. Then started looking at other "modified" areas(9 times outta 10 your problem) and realized it had something to do with my long tubes. Put stockers back on and it was fine. 98 and 99s were very different( even though they looked the same) so i don't know if the same would work for you. I would suggest checking your modified components.

I'm going to try running through the basics first and see where that brings me, plugs, wires, fuel filter and fuel system.... If it is the long tube headers there must be a way to "tune" the car to make it run properly? I'm also thinking that the k&n and co. (intake, maf and map) I'm going to take those off inspect them and see what happens.
