180 thermostat
Would I be able to send a current tune and have it fixed so the running temp value is lowered for the 180 thermostat?
thanks

You do it yourself. Just lower the fan settings in the tune.

He has a Ram, there are no fan settings in the tune...Mike_Levy wrote:You do it yourself. Just lower the fan settings in the tune.

He should be able to do that no problem. Unless he is just swamped.

Pretty sure the 06 rams did not have electric fans....

I switched to a 180 and do not seem to have any problems. What problems were you guys seeing? I did read where someone thought his timing at cruise on the hwy was not advanced as much after the swap. I did not verify this with mine.

not a big problem , it just dosent idle down all the way , the pcm is looking for running temp of coolant to be stock , so if its cooler, the truck thinks its not warmed up , so it adds fuel, and dosent idle down all the way . i just thought theres a table in the cmr to change the trucks running coolant temp from 205 to 180 so when it gets to the cooler temp with the 180 therm, the truck thinks its a 205. and idles normal, and dosent change the a/f recipe.need-a-cage wrote:I switched to a 180 and do not seem to have any problems. seems i'm the only one with this condition.

a/f is now different on the wideband, and dosent feel like it's pulling as hard at wot, non wot feels great, with the 180 therm, timing is less, a/f recipe is different, and dosent idle normal when stopped.need-a-cage wrote:I switched to a 180 and do not seem to have any problems. Is there a tune to tell the truck what the new running temp is so i can use the 180 therm, and not have any of the trucks parameters changed?
maybe datalog a cruise and look at the temps for engine and/ or coolant temp and maybe change what value the pcm is looking for.
Or am I still the only one with this condition?
