A9L CMR Question - Setting engine displacement

Post by GTODave »

My tuner/dealer and I got the car running using a tune for a 460 Ford. Now we have a question or two as this is new territory for both of us.
We both believe that the best course of action it set basic parameters as close to the actual engine as possible. This seems to be what the EEC tuner forms say is the best approach to start with.
We set the injector slopes to 30 and 36.
Loaded the 90mm Lightning MAF table
We can't find way to accurately set the engine displacement. The only refernce to engine displacement we can find uses a formula that devides the old injector size by new injector size and multiplies it by a constant. Don't know what this really does.
Both of us are experenced tuners but this is the first time we have done this much mixing and matching.
Any shove in the right direction well be greatly appreciated.

Dave, I just made a post about this parameter for you and others to use as reference. It is in the Ford Tuning section located here: http://diablosport.com/index.php?name=P ... forum&f=19 I made it a sticky at the top...

The only time you would stray from the actual value would be to ratio the tune. The factory PCM is limited to 63.9 lb/min on the maf so if your maf curve exceeds that you will need to lower it, your injector values and displacement scalar all the exact same percentage to get the PCM in the right operating range.
