how to get stock tune after installing a perf tune

I just downloaded the perf tune, but don't see an option to download the stock tune. Do I have to re-flash to car to stock then do a download, then upload my perf tune?

Saving original backup to PC

1. Allow the Predator to save a copy of the original backup file from the PCM in the car.

2. Once the backup has been saved, connect the Predator to the PC using a straight through 9-pin serial cable, and power it up using either a 12v 1 amp power supply or the OBDII port in the vehicle if using a laptop.

3. Follow this link to download and install the DSDownloader to your computer. http://diablosport.com/CMR/software/Gen ... r_1740.exe

4. Open the DSDownloader software.

5. Access your device manager to see what COM port the cable is assigned to and set the baud rate for that COM port to 57600.

6. Set the DSDownlaoder to the same COM port and baud rate settings. Be sure the compressed send button is not checked on the downloader tool bar..

7. From the main menu in the Predator go to options>custom tune

8. Select export tune and then original backup. You will see a window that says ‘processing’, and it will count up to 100%.

9. Now, press enter on the Predator. It will display ‘sending 0 bytes’.

10. Once you do this, press the ‘get tune file from Predator’ button on the DSDownloader.

11. A new window will open on the PC called Diablosport tool download and it will display a status bar. It should say ‘reading packet’.

12. Once the file has beed uploaded the downloader will ask if you would like to save in the .ori folder. Choose no, and direct it to save the file to your desktop or somewhere that it will be easy for you to find.

13. If you have any issues while following the steps outlined above, be sure you have all of the COM port and baud rate settings correct. If all else fails, please contact our technical support at 561-908-0040.

I tried that and it gets to step 8 in your awesome instructions and hangs at 3%.
Bug or Operator Error?

hmmm... not sure... those instructions I posted above are right from diablosport for the 7146... so not sure...

it doesn't give ya any kind of error message on the predator or in the DSDownloader app??

Yes, on the 7146 it stays "Transfer failed" <Continue>, then brings me back to
the Export Tune menu.

Since this is a 9r07b revision, I think you want to use the 115200 baud rate instead of 57600. Try that.

Hi John,

I'm using 115,200 and com5. I was able to download the perf tune to my ds download
subdir, but I can't get the stock tune off of it. Don't I need to load that tune back
on any time I go to download a newer version of sw? What info do you guys need
other than what I provided above to help me troubleshoot this?

My Downloader version is 2.1.0.9.

After DS Downloader has auto-detected your Predator, please go to Help -> Tool Info. Cut and paste all the information you see there into your next post here in the forums. That will tell us a lot of things about what is wrong.

Auto Connect is ENABLED.
Legacy Connect is DISABLED.
A tool was found on COM5 at 115200 baud.
XML RPC commands are NOT available.

John, I also went thru the troubleshooting guide and that didn't help.
One important fact here is that I was able to offload the perf tune. I can't offload the stock tune, which tends to make me think it is not a problem with how my pc is set up, baud rate, firewall, etc. .

Yes, I did the 93 tune, and was able to offload that from the 7146 to my pc. I can't offload
the stock tune, which the 7146 captured when I performed the 93 tune.
