growling sound in 6.4l around 2000 rpm ???

Post by paulkeel »

Can anyone help w/ poss cause of a growling sound around 2000rpm & 20 lbs on press? It sounds like the plastic air box is fluttering. I've ran w/ cover & filter out to test & does the same thing. If you let off or get on it, then it goes away. If you take off harder than normal, it won't do it. The dealer is the last place I want to take it so any help will greatly be appreciated. No mods except predator.
I feel it has something to do w/ the air, turbo, or intake.

Found the problem. The alum tube coming from the intercooler was rubbing the front grill frame when boots were expanding. It doesn't touch when not under pressure. It appears I was hearing a vibration.
