Error Codes P0101 & P0102...Any Suggestions!

Post by Mistic »

How is everyone today? I have a questions for you all. Earlier today I made a 30min trip mostly highway and my truck ran great. Then this evening I jumped in and the check engine light came on within a minute after starting the truck. I check for a trouble code with my Predator and it gave me 2 codes P0171 "Fuel Trim, Bank 1 system too lean" and P0174 "Fuel Trim bank 2 system too lean" So I set my tune settings from performance back to factory and the check engine light went off. (The performance tune has been in the vehicle for 6 months with no issues until tonight). Since the engine light went off I headed out for the evening on another 30 minute drive to my destination and the engine light never can back on. When I started the vehile to come home the light came back on. I had the scanner with me and this time it gave me two new errors. P0101 "Mass Air Flow Circuit, Range/Performance" and P0102 "Mass Air Flow Circuit Low Input". Do you have any suggestion were to start. Now I can tell you that last weekend I did just clean my cold air intake, which is an S&B unit with an oiled filter, similar to a K&N unit. I followed the re-oil instruction not to over oil, but is it possible that the MAF sensor pulled some oil through and tripped these codes? But why the fuel trim codes also?

My predator is a U7192 and my Vehcile is a Chevrolet 2007 Classic Silverado with the 5.3L Engine.

Thanks for any help or suggestions you may be able to give me.

well, for the MAF codes i would assume that yes some oil got pulled through the filter because unless your MAF is shorting out theres nothing i can think of that would create those codes. im clueless on the fuel too lean code though

Are all your connections air tight on your CAI? Double check.

I'm my own worst enemy.....Last weekend when I cleaned my air filter I retightened all the hose clamps on the CAI.....well apparently one of the tube was close to popping off. After I tightened it and the engine moved under torque the main air snorkel jumped off so the MAF sensor was giving me all the false readings. I reconnected everything and within a few minutes of idling the computer straightened everything out.

Thanks for all your help/suggestions guys!
