real time data and logging

Post by smitty3220 »

i have been programing the different tunes and was going to try logging some data. but what is the process to go about this? i mean do you still have to have the radio fuses taken out? also can you drive for an extended period of time or only short time periods?

i have a 2006 duramax diesel with the predator u7186

no, you do not have to take any fuses out for datalogging. As far as how long you can drive, it depends on how many parameters you choose to log - the more parameters you log, the faster the log will fill up - which equals a shorter drive time before the log will be full. On mine (Gas, U7191, Monte Carlo SS) I choose to log 8 parameters, and it logs for 20 minutes.

In the Predator (on my Gas 7191 version) you'd go into the diagnostics section, then choose Real Time Data, then choose the complete list or the short list - then you choose to log All, or Select From List. Choose Select From List and go through the list of monitorable parameters and select the ones you want to log by pressing the center button on the Predator.

Once you have everything selected you want, hit the ESC button (may have to do it twice if you're not at the top of the parameter list) and it will ask you if you want to save the log - choose yes - that way you can download it to your PC after and view the results with the Dataviewer software available on Diablo's site.

Enjoy!!

You can drive all day, but once the log is full, it's full.
06MonteSS probably has logged more data than any of our end users, and his input seems spot on.
Let me know if you need any more info.

oops - forgot one thing...

you want to make sure your vehicle is up to operating temps before you start logging anything - drive around for 10-20 mins. and THEN start logging.

Thanks Mike! - trying to save you some typing ;-)
