i was wondering when the new update was coming out for the U7165? i was told a week like a month ago and i would like to have it so i can tune my truck...

Ok, its still not up... i am getting very annoyed... Im about to sell this piece of junk tuner because i can use it and go buy an SCT...

sorry i got hot there, i have asked about it about a month ago and my tuner was a $300 brick for the longest time.... Like i said, sorry about that...

my tuner was updated and it still wont tune my vehicle. it says that the calID is wrong and wont tune the vehicle... I thought this update was supposed to fix that?

is the software update that you put in R17? Also check to see what your last tune written is under OPTIONS/SHOW LAST TUNE WRITTEN. It needs to say Original backup. If not then you need to call first thing Tuesday and make sure you have a copy of the work order showing your truck is reflashed. This is so we can unlock the tool. What happens is if the predator has a copy of the previous backup and it sees that you have a different calibration in the truck it will not tune it. The predator needs to be unlocked to store a new copy of the factory backup.

well, i plugged it in and downloaded the original flash, then when i go to tune it, it says that the calid is different. Yes i updated to r17. i checked under options and it says original backup...

Can you please post up this calid?

the vehicle CALID is VXAP2N2

What was the exact error message displayed?
When you power this tool up now it displays Predator version 8r17 on the top line of the tool, correct?

it says and i quote...

"The custom tune CALID is vxam7a4, but the vehicle has CALID VXAP2N2. Custom tune cannot be used on the vehicle."

After i click continue, ity says

"Unable to read vehicle type. Please make sure the vehicle ignition is on and the engine is NOT running."

its version 8r17

Ahhah. I see what is going on here. You are trying to use a custom tune, no?
If so, you will not be able to use that tune as it was created from your old calid.
You shouldn't need that tune though, as the new revision has all new tunes in it already.
Simply update the Predator and allow it to tune the vehicle using the standard tunes provided.

All im trying to do is install the 100hp tune in my vehicle... When i hit the performance tune in the tuner it comes up with the calid error... you tell me that one... all i want is the stock 100hp tune that comes with the update...

Could it be that the programming on the new update is looking for the calid that i said above?
