C6 Corvette Won't Start after Restore

I was upgrading to the new CROM v.9r02 and restored the factory tune in my 2005 Corvette - and now I cannot start the car.

Predator U7191

I am quite sure I reloaded the factory tune as the Predator said the restore was complete.

I tried to load the updated Diablotune and get "Unable to read p/n of first calibration file"

I also cannot read the VIN.

Am I toast?

Try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes.. usually about 15 will work, and reconnect the battery and see if that will work.

If not, your PCM might need to be reflashed.

But the Predator still cannot read the calibration file or my VIN.

Did you uninstall the tune before upgrading the tool, or did you upgrade and then uninstall the tune?

Quite sure I uninstalled the diablotune first. The tuner shows last tune written as Original Backup.

I also notice this is the message that displays when I turn on the tuner without hooking up to the obdII port

The tuner should have said No Tune Installed/Tool Unlocked before updating the tool.

Where would such a message display? The message "Original Backup" I am getting is displayed under "Show Last Tune Written" under the "Options" menu.

Was I somehow supposed to clear that to arrive at the "No Tune Installed/Tool Unlocked" message?

I thought that if the display showed "Original Backup" as the Last Tune Written - then it is unlocked.

Could "No Tune Installed" message apply to a version earlier than mine, Born 6/27/2008 3981?

I can't remember where it says it exactly. I thought it was supposed to say that under the last tune written area.

Did you uninstall the tuner, or just install the original tune back to the vehicle?

I did not know you can "uninstall". I thought putting the original tune back in was the uninstall. I don't think there is an option to uninstall only or to do that prior to restoring factory backup. Please correct me if I am wrong.

no Neon.. our 7191's will show "original backup" under the last tune written screen when it's unlocked/restored...

to restore the original backup, you went to OPTIONS > TROUBLESHOOTING > RESTORE ORIGINAL BACKUP correct??

also, that error message for "Unable to read p/n of first calibration file" is normally because you don't have your key turned on to the correct position... key has to be turned on for it to be able to access/read/flash the ecm...

Yes, I restored that way. It was the 2nd time I did it. The first time, I restored it to adjust the fan settings on the Diablotune. Then uploaded the new tune into the car - no problems. This time I took it out to update the Version - I was trying the log real time data and could not upload to the Dataveiwer - so I updated from the version that was on the tuner to the 9r02 version on the web. Now I cannot load it back in - p/n calibration error. I tried to veiw the p/n calibration and couldn't see that either. The Keyless Go on the corvette is trikcy. The Predator instructions say to put in Accessory with "Accessory Mode On" showing on the DIC. I tried that and tried with the RUN posistion. Same problem.

I called DS tech support and they say I need to have the tuner plugged in and to walk through it. I won't be able to until Thursday.
