Looking to add the safety features a monitoring system that will defuel the engine if certain parameters are exceeded. Wondered if you guys could tell me whether or not there is one out there that will work best with the predator or if there are several to choose from what are some of the deciding features. I would like to monitor EGT, Boost, and if possible Tranny temp. I would like it to somehow defuel the engine or some other way back it off if a preset EGT or Boost limit is exceeded. Also it would be great if it did so for tranny temp or slippage as well. There are soo many to choose from thought this would be the best forum to get answers from those using the Predator as well.

If you are installing the gauges, I would say that the best device is your foot. Just let off a little.

This is what I love to hate about open forums. Obviously if you let off with the foot, you won't have to worry about exeeding limits. Question was, anyone using a monitoring system out there that can tell me if it's good or bad with the predator. I'd prefer to hear answers to that question not opinions on other ways to do the obvious. I find gauges not preferable because at 2 5/16 round x 3 gauges, it takes up more space, you have to take the eyes off the road to look at each, and they won't stop you from exceeding a limit, cost of a pyrometer, tranny gauge, boost gauge will be about the same as a monitor that will also give me fuel pressure, injection pressure, oil temp, water temp. So again why did you ask if I was installing gauges?

Exactly why I waited and waited for the Trinity to come out, and I never got a difinitive answer from anyone. So, I decided to go with the combo. Right now I'm looking at a quadzilla unit, but I don't think it has any safeguards on it. My dad has a TST unit on an 04.5 and it defuels right away in the higher settings. My truck seems a lot more powerful (he doesn't want to race for some reason) and it scares the heck out of me and I ease out pretty quick even in the perd/econ tune. The Trinity unit from what I hear is the answer, but gees how long is the wait??????

I JUST SPOKE WITH SONNIE AT EDGEWATER PRODUCTS www.modsfortrucks.com. I just bought a Preditor U7131 from him CHEAP and asked about a monitoring program. He sold me on the Quadzilla Commander. This unit will de-fuel based upon EGT, Boost, Trans/Oil Temp, Engine Coolant (high), Injection Pressure and Fuel Pressure. That's straight from their web site. http://www.quadzillapower.com/products/commander.html They say it works as a stand alone guage and no other products are needed to use the monitoring. You can also buy a Pillar Pod to mount the display. I got a pretty good deal on that unit also but he asked me not to say how much.

What did the quadzilla cost? I was looking into that myself.

I got a anyone with a quadzilla, and a stick know where to put the tranny temp probe. ive looked and looked and all I found was a 2" long bolt , eek...

Test port. From the passenger side its the one that is diagonally tapped.

I put the Quadzilla Commander in with a pillar pod and it is awsome. I agree with most I don't like a whole pillar full of gauges, but this thing is just right plus it will conform to most modules or programmers as well as work by itself if need be. A+++ to quadzilla for a good product. As for the tranny temp gauge it only works on the automatic, the 6-speed doesn't have a port that I have found.
