Related to fuel delivery. Is this a known problem? What do we do next?

Do you have anymore history on the truck modifications? Does it have a after market lift pump and so on.....

It has a BD Aux Lift pump, lift pump pressure is at 20 psi at idle.
Other than that just the regular 4" exhaust, AFE Stage 2 intake and the U7131

Have you put the truck back to stock conditions to see if the codes still persist? What kind of shape is the harness in? Are all the injector plugs tight? And of coarse are the filter(s) clean?

All of the above checked.

Is anyone else experiencing these codes? Wondering if it is an injection pump problem where it isn't operating 100% and when the U7131 is asking for more fuel the problem comes in. Codes come on when asking the engine for more (i.e. when passing) The codes do not come on without the tuner installed. :?:

Check the rail pressure at WOT, you could do a search on this site for these codes. Is the programmers firmware current? The mods at this site usually respond in the mornings EST.

P0251 Fuel Inj Pump Fuel valve Feedback Circ
P0148 Fuel Delivery Error

cant say I have ever seen these codes before, but it would appear that the fuel system is not keeping up with the commanded pressure in the tunes.

Which tune are you runinf?
Have you tried one of the lower power tunes to see if the problem persists?
And, most importantly, how does the truck feel?
Is it making the extra power?

Mike,

We are going to try a dual feed line. It seems as though it is a CP3 pump problem, maybe was damaged by the lift pump not putting out enough. Most trucks with the auxilary lift pump put out about 26 -28 psi at idle

I also had a P0148 code but that was using a Dr. Performance 110hp chip. It appears to trigger when my CP3 pump can't can't keep the required rail pressure asked.

Yes, most all performance tunes will add a bit of pressure.

sounds like fuel contamination. check your fuel filter housing for shit in it.

I have the same fuel delivery code show up often. on all power levels but never when its returned to stock. I have brand new OEM injectors and still get it. its a predator thing i guess. my truck seems to run fine it just looks junky to have check engine light always on in a 60,000$ truck. Also my truck idles like shit in the winter thanks to the predator. Fix this stuff please.

WELL MY 07 5.9 IS IN THE SHOP RIGHT NOW FOR THE SAME CODE. 4RTH TIME. THEY HAVE REPLACED THE LIFT PUMP. SO ILL KEEP YOU POSTED ON WHAT THERE NEXT FIX IS. AND BY THE WAY MY TRUCK STILL SHOWED THE CODE IN STOCK MODE ONLY WHEN IT HAD A HEAVY LOAD. HOPE I CAN HELP. I WAS TOLD BY A CUMMINS DEALER TO CHECK THE FUEL PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE. SO WE WILL CHECK IT OUT.
