U7164 issues here

Post by mikel »

Guys, I have gotten the attention of the right people and we are ready to start looking into these issues some of you are reporting.
What I need now, is for anyone with issues, even if they have been posted before, to add them to this thread, along with:

1. Your Predators current revision (should all be 9r09 or 9t10)
2. Your trucks calids for Unit 1 and Unit 2.
3. A detailed description of the issues, and which tunes they appear with.

This will better help us to get these issues fixed in a prompt manner, as I hate seeing anyone not enjoying their tuners, especially knowing how well these trucks can and should run with our tunes.

Thanks
Mike

9r09

Unit 1 is 8u7a-14c204-cf
Unit 2 is 7u7a-14c337-ab

The MPG is worst that stock in Tow, 50 hp, & 80 hp. In 50 & 80 i get a double shifting feeling between 2nd and 3rd gear. Also it will go into regen mode every day. Probably explains why MPG sucks.

I have one question. Why are you starting to look into these issues now, when you have been claiming to have been looking into them for the last 6 months? What is it. Have you been blowing us off the last 6 months or what? Programer hasn't been in my truck since march. Nice waste of money this was.

Check engine light stays on. When I clear trouble codes it says unit 1 erased and unit 2 failed. Goes into regen every time I start the truck. No mileage gains on any tune, well maybe the high performance tune but the shifting is so erratic and hard that it sounds like a gremlin is under there with a maul. Stalls on takeoff from dead stop if i gas it hard (in every tune).Shifting is erratic in every tune, but mostly performance tune and 80..they seem to act almost the same.

Little mpg increase in lower tunes, extreme tune is very irratic, it acts like a 2 stroke when the power band kicks in then it's like a screaming dog w/ very hard shifts. Mpg is best w/ extreme but I tow a 24' enclosed trlr 95% of the time so I'm scared of the higher tunes due to egt & other damage. Thanks for looking into this.....

The reasoning behind taking so long was because they were in limbo for awhile with a diesel tuner, both brian and cole left and they were short a tuner...until they got me. I had alot of work to do though, i started with the six liter stuff and had to redo ALL of them. Now i am moving onto the 6.4 stuff which it looks like there is an error with two specific"groups" that need attention, trust me im working as hard as i can to get you guys back on the road asap.

My mileage is the same as stock or slightly less. Power on the 80 tune is not what it was before. Hard shifts and if I'm on it any at all it pulsates after the second shift. Stock tunes runs fine.

OK guys I just wanted to give you some updates. Though im battling 6.0L releases i still got a 6.4L on the dyno yesterday. The extreme tune def needs work on drive ability, i did get this truck to shift erratically like everyone says. I was pleased with the tow tune, that put out like 53hp to the wheels extra and jumped torque from 600 to alittle over 700. I see why there are no mileage increases so i will take care of that. 50hp needs to be reworked, 80hp put out the numbers (i will look for the shifting issues in this one as well) and the extreme put out the torque but needs some help in the hp department. The truck i used is readily available to me so I'm going to try and get it for a few days next week and hopefully get this stuff straightened out for you guys.

Could you send it to me i can test it right now if you like? Says VXCF7N3 is not supported. I have the last dyno run on this truck before it went into the shop and it made 386hp to the rear tires. Truck went into shop to have head gaskets replaced now he got truck back and says it would not load. They flashed ecm.
