ahh yes this exact thing happened to me on my 04 cummins ill try to tell you what i did i kind of remember.
Ok what happened was when you clicked the vehicle off then on again you did it too quickly you need to wait like 2 mins when clicking it back on and selecting it what i did was unplugged it all undid the bat terminals then get back to the main menu by using the back and cancel buttons instead of the touch screen then just re do it all over again and re install the performance tune and just take your time and go slow i found i was rushing to quick and i think it confused the computer or something im sure a actual diablo moderator or there support line could help you better make more sense but if you need more help pm me ill be on for a bit.

Make sure your OBDII cable is firmly connected inthe bottom of the Trinity.

I have checked the cable. the first time I tried to restore the truck to original it made it to 97% then said it was unable to finish. Thats when it tells me to unhook batteries. After unhooking the batteries and retrying it tells me the last program did not install and then it will restore the original. After I say yes restore original it goes through the preparing the programmer but after that it just tells me to unhook the batteies which I have done many times.

Are you holding it in your hand or is it mounted?
I have seen some connectivity issues with some early cables that will lose contact if you are moving it around in your hand while it is flashing.
