07 RAM Fan adjust

Post by 340DART »

Hello everyone, newbe here. Long to drag racing, short to tuning.

Help, I can't find fan options for fan settings. It seems to me I saw them before I updated to 04. I just indstalled a 180 and want to change parameters. Am I just overlooking them?

One more thing, anyone want to explain the part throttle upshift options for the RAM? There seem to be several for each gear and each one as it's selected doesn't cancel the one before.

OK, no need to adjust condensor fan

Post by 340DART »

REalized theres no need to adjust the condensor fan. Got it, you guys making all the fan adjustments are in vehicles that have nothing but electric fans.

I would still appreciate an answer to my question about the part throttle shift points.

Iross, No flame here, I have a sense of humor.

Shhh, I am paying Predator a hefty sum to not release the 09'. I don't want to get smoked when all that power is unleashed in your truck.

Seriously, what is up with these engines. Mine is rated at 345 HP stock, more like 245, after the tune and mods mine might be 300?? Can anyone explain under what conditions mine would put out 345 stock? Granted this is all seat of the pants, not dynoed. But if you say 345 stock + mods would put me at 390, this thing should be a monster. I don't think it's anywhere near 390, if the rating is at the crank there must be a lot of driveline loss.

There is at least 25% drivetrain loss in these bad boys. :(

DiabloFan, I wonder how that 25% compares w the competition. Sounds high to me, believable, but high.

I would like to know about the part throttle trans adjustments if anyone knows.

Also would like to know if I need to make any tune changes after changing to a 4:10 gearset. Does the Pred support speedo adjustments? I don't see them in mine.

One last question, I lost some bottom end with all the changes made so far. To the point where the truck leaves fairly hard but doesn't suffer from wheel spin. Which seems odd to me considering torquey motor and light rear. Are there any tricks to recapturing some bottom end?

I would really appreciate an answer to the part throttle upshift question. If there is somewhere I can go to get an answer just let me know. In the mean time I more questions than anwers. The and teh mods so far def help the truck but I am disappointed in the 0-6o times. I know I know it's 4500 lbs, but I'm not convinced that 5.7 is doing all it can with what it's got. I'll post up a log file.

For those that don't have time/software to review the file the truck ran a 7.4" 0-60. That sounds like bone stock time to me.....

The partial throttle upshift numbers represent what rpm the trans will upshift at based on throttle position. You should be setting each category progressively higher so that the more gas you give it, the longer it holds the gear before shifting. Below is the schedule I use. It is somewhat aggressive and not designed to be fuel efficient. If that's a concern for you, leave them stock (aka don't adjust them).

1st - 2nd
15% 1800
25% 2200
33% 2800
40% 3000
60% 5000

2nd -3rd
10% 1800
20% 2200
30% 2800
40% 3000
60% 5000

Anyone have any useful comments on the log file posted or the 0-60 times referenced. I added 3% fuel at upper rev range, made the speed jump up and down more.

DS Tuners,

Will someone please check the two log files posted and let me know if the Base Spark looks normal? The truck is losing mph at 1-2 upshift and taking a 1/2" to get it back.
