I have a 2005 F350. I've had my tuner for quite a while. I recently got the truck back from the dealer for a new turbo. I restored the stock tune before taking it in about a month ago. I tried to upload a tune in it today and I'm getting "vehicle not in database". How is this? It's only been used in my truck.
Will the new update cure this? I have a USB-serial cable, but what will power it up?
Thanks, in advance, Jim

once you tune a truck, its locked to that specific truck until you restore the original backup. Once you restore it, it can be used on another truck. You can't tune two trucks with on predator though.

I have a 2006 F250 6.0 and it died on me at a light the other day. Towed it to a dealer, they fixed (wire insulation burned through and it grounded out and shut her down). My economy (+65 hp) tune was in the computer at the time. I tried to restore original factory before the tow truck arrived, but my Predator wouldn't read vehicle. Got it back from dealer, it has original tune in the computer now (they rewrote it) and my mileage / power is back down to pitiful (by comparison) stock. I tried to reinstall my economy tune and the tuner said "vehicle not recognized, contact dealer for update, your CAL ID is VXCF7H3" whatever that means. I'm gonna write the nearest dealer today and see what they say. I tried to download the updates from this site but no joy. I need help, please. Many thanks, Brent

sounds like you just need the tool reset, 9r10 supports the vxcf7. Give tech a call and they will give you a hand.
