cruise control prob?

Post by slam »

i have the u7180 programer, for my 04 gmc sierra 4x4 mods are 6in fabtech lift 325x60x20's k&n air filter,4 in magna flow exhaust, usually run it on the 65 or 85 hp tunes, and now when ever i set the cruise control it surges? it can't maintain a steady throttle before i installed the tunes it was fine, any idea's ? it's not that big of a deal just sorta of annoying. and it's definetly not something i am going to pull the programer for. just would like to make it go away if possible. other wise i love it,and have recomended it to several friends who now own one. thanks for any help or ideas.

This is a new one to me.
Is this a California vehicle?
Has it been serviced at the GM dealer recently?

no it's not a calif vehicle no cat,and it doesnt say complies to calif epa regulations under the hood on the emission sticker. and i have had it for over a year and it's never been to the dealer for anything as long as i have had it, like i said it's not that big of a deal just sort of annoying, and i tried it today on the freeway and at speeds over 65 mph it seemed ok. but at speeds 45 and under it surges. it's not like i use it allot at speeds under 45 mph. usually when i am going through a place where i know the police have speed traps set up. anyway if you can think of something let me know and i'll give it a try. thanks for you speedy reply.

Does the truck display any trouble codes?
Try disconnecting the batteries for a while to see if this helps.

Thanks

When was the last time you changed your fuel filter? Dirty filter will cause all kinds of surge issues.
