My u7180 will not load

Post by jbcox43 »

I tried to load my Predator u7180 / 9r08 on my Chevy 2004 2500HD LB7.
I removed the fuses as listed in the instruction manual and do everything as listed in the manual but have problems saving vehicle data.
When i try to install the tuner its gives me an error saying Original back up not saved (-12) then when i try again it says not tuning vehicle because of back up (3).I have tried a few times but always the same result. I notice it only loads for about 3-5 seconds then the error occurs. The truck has never had any tuner installed to it.
Please help as this is very disappointing and frustrating. This is not the first time I have contacted tech services about this problem. After I had the tuner updated with the hardware upgrade in April it had this problem. I was told that they were aware of this problem with some trucks and were working on an update. BE PATIENT. Because tech service was very busy at that time and will be coming out with a new version soon. I waited until the new update was posted. I have installed the new version (9r08) and it does not work ether.
Is there a solution for this problem? Am I doing something wrong? Please let me know. Thanks, John

i'm having kinda the same prob sent my unit back to have it updated now it won't upload a new tune to my truck even though it will save the stock program. they are saying that i need an update to the 9r08 but it seems like if they sent it back to me it should at least update a tune even if it throws codes.

any ideas about how to fix the prob the closest dealer to me doesn't do updates and i don't have the cables for my computer

Yes a solution would be nice. I still cannot use mine either. Wish i could get my money back after 3 months of trying to get it to work.
