06 Daytona w/93cai+MODS runs Slower then a 06 Charger RT.

Post by NBx33 »

****DATALOG ADDED******
Hey Guys I have a bunch of Questions.
I have an 06 Daytona With the folowing mods that i know of..
(yeah i said that i know of since i am 2nd owner)
Brylcreem Exhaust, Mopar CAI w/ Steel Mesh Filter, 170 Tstat.

My brothers car is a 06 CHarger RT with added Daytona Exhuast. Car even has added weight from Vertical DOors, spare tire and car seats still in car.

His car Runs 3mph faster then me in the qtr mile. WTF!!!

He does no burnout rolls around the wetbox doesnt footbrake just guns it at Green light..

Only reason why i finished first is becasue of my racing reactions. I tree'd him 3tenths but finished fender to fender.

HEre are my questions..
Does anyone ese have DIablo with Brylcreem?

Could my deleted mufflers actually be hurting my performance and predators tune? Backpressure etc.

Will a CMR tune FIx this lack of performance?

first of all start by doing a datalog and check for short term knock retard (ST KNK)
you might not be getting all the power you should from your tune.

exhaust mods dont need a cmr.

whats your quarter mile time? and where are you from?

My Best consistent ET is a 14.051-14.200 Very consistent range.

I am from Maryland and drag race @ Mason dixon Dragway and Capital Raceway.

Your statement says Exhaust mods dont need CMR.... but does the Brylcreem exhaust mod change the characteristics of the Compression and exhaust backpressure that i Lose all the gains of the predator making it feel stock.

I could have been negative power prior to the tune the tune made it feel peppier but actually back to stock performance when it should have been above stock level.

ALso i have never seen more then a split second of.50 or .05 stKNK retard mainly during shifts so no knocking.

the brylcreem mod is for sound mostly, it wont affect the a/f ratio, headers for example will need a little more fuel.

i would love to agree with you... But Chrylser spent tons of money on R&D on the suitcase exhaust and eliminating it would have to have some kind of effect whether it be negative or positive. I am not the only one who felt like its a Negative effect.

Have never seen any kind of difference on the dyno from cat back changes.

It aint going to change your A/F ratio, and that is what you are asking.

Also, NO, I personally would not spend the money they get for a cat-back that may add like 8 rwhp on a good day.

Once the car is modified, the stock cat back may become a restriction, and at that point a cat back may be worth a few more ponies.

The Corsa/Mopar cat back is worth every penny.

The sound is absolutely EXQUISITE. NO drone, maybe quieter than stock at highway cruising and as loud as nascar when you get on it. Engineered with Chrysler to the stock 2.75" inner diameter, real live stainless steel, beautiful tips, and you might even get 10 more hp (certainly not negative). It makes me smile every single time I drive my car. How can that not be worth it?

less than 10whp for $1000  ,,,,,,,pretty sucky hp/$

Is there a more expensive part that offers less of a performance increase?

My personal mod hp/$ performance pricebreak is $10/hp. Good thing I don't own a LX. There are suckers born every minute.

I feel you brother, but in my world, that $1k would have gone to a cam swap, or a set of longtubes first!

What the hell is a Brylcreem? Never even heard of it. Is that like some muffler shop, crimped pipe system?
