U7198 A few Q's

Post by joeyz71 »

1. I got my tuner today. Can I tune with my current set up (the tuning options that are originally installed in a Preditor) and change it when I decide to install my supercharger (it's COLD here)? My Preditor did not come with the supercharger, it needs a custom tune.
2. Will I still have the tuning options I have now once I get a custom tune in my Diablo, or does the custom tune replace what's in the Preditor now?
3. I will need pretty detailed instructions in order to get this custom tune done and in my truck. Yes, I'm one of THEM, but I'll get there with help.
4. I'm still waiting for my adaptor to be able to go further.

Good news though, the Hypertech is OUT and I'm in factory tune mode.

Baby steps! Hook me up and I'll be around for a long while. I don't know if that's a threat or promise. :D

1. Yes. Use the tunes in the Predator now, and when you are ready to do the blower, visit one of our CMR dealers for a custom tune on the dyno to dial the supercharger in properly.
2. The custom tune will replace the standard Predator tune until the backup is restored, resetting the tool.
3. The pros will handle it for you!
4. All you will need is a straight through serial cable and a 12V 1 amp power adapter to get your tunes saved to your PC.

1a. I don't really have any place close enough to do the proper dial in with the Preditor and dyno. There's a place nearby, but they deal with Fords. I can just get a generic custom tune from you guys for the supercharger tune via my laptop and email to/from you until I can get 'er done the right way... right?
2a. I can store tunes in my laptop too, right?
3a. I don't really want to be their first Chevy at the (dominantly) Ford place.
Now that I've got the Preditor, a couple more Q's. If I choose auto tranny changes and don't select with tow/haul mode, will it just change it if not in tow/haul. Or do I HAVE to select tow/haul because I DO have that option. I don't like the shifting sequence in tow/haul mode and it doesn't go in to overdrive in that either. Don't want to be switching back and forth all the time either. I probably seem like a whiner and sorry for that, but...

1, yes we can get it dialed in pretty good without dyno, the only thing that we will do is set your air/fuel safe enough not to cause issues. Actually you have an FMU with the powerdyny so it will take care of the fueling so all we will dial in is timing.
2,Yes you can store the custom tune on your laptop
You do not have to select tow/haul if you do not use, it does not make a difference.
