Got my unit with 9r17 it didnt work. called and was told to run 9r12 but when I try to say, set shift points it says that it cant be used because it needs an update. Is it because of the later (2005) year? Updating these units can be troublesome! With the 2005 pcm did it not have the ability to perform some of the adjustments? Everything is running fine but if I paid for it I want it! Please spell out the fix in easy to use links! Playing with your pcm can be scarey. it was doing a lot of weird things when trying to run the out of the box 9r17! Great unit just want the most out of I can!

Some detail might help.
"2005 300c" -- were there engine options? which engine do you have?
"told to run 9r12 but when I try ... it can't be used because it needs an update" -- is it the Predator that needs an update? (never heard of the Predator saying that before) or was it telling you that your PCM/calid needs an update?
What exactly was the message?

Sorry I didnt get back to this I tried reading my way through some other threads. I have the 5.7 still dont have a CIA. I have magnaflow catbacks. I was told by DS to just run the 9r12 with the 05 it was all I needed. The Message is the what i'm trying to do is not supported please check to make sure you have latest updates. Does that sound familier. I didnt write that down but I will in the morning. I assumed what in computer language an updates is because your software is old and by updating it would give me more functions and be bigger and better. By saying to run the 9r12 was an honest answer meaning not every update deals with my paticular year if anything they are for the newer years coming out. Is this correct?

So if thats the case "Sounds like you need a CROM update (the software version in your car's computer)" what do I do to fix that is it a dealer issue??
The dealer could use their Starscan to update the car's software, but typically all you need to do is connect to Diablo's site. Oh, an I used the wrong term earlier. It's not a CROM update, but a CALID update. Follow the directions found here: http://www.diablosport.com/index.php?mo ... ay&pid=117
