Worked fine now nothing
Just installed it today... worked ok... gauges were a bit erratic and read my boost at 26 at idle. Drove down the road and it all went to 0 and said that I needed to reconnect... so I did, and it didnt help. I hooked up my Matco scanner to the truck... now that wont even connect!!!!

If it was just monitoring, it should not do anything...
Does it seem to run OK?

Update... When unplug the batterys and let it sit for a bit... Hook everything back up... then it works again... for about 20 seconds then it all goes to hell again.
I am sending this one back and trying a new one. We'll see if that works

Truck ran like stock with the tow tune in there... I made sure the temp was over 170 and it was the same.... But the gauges would read like crap! 26 PSI at idle? I think this unit was Jacked to begin with.
Power is fine... worked after a reset of the batteries... but only for a little while.

Well, the boost PID reports atmospheric pressure, but 26 psi does sound a bit high, usually it is about 14 psi.

RE: Worked fine now nothing
can the boost setting be calibrated so it reads correct or am I stuck adding 14 all the time?

Yes, we are working on new PIDs to display Boost only, it will say 0 until there is boost present in the manifold.

Right there is the main reason I bought the Trinity over the edge... UPDATES!!!!
I think I have located the problem... the pins on my OBDII are a bit loose in the plug... I am going to re-pin them later and I think that should solve the issue.

Sounds like the "bad" cable issue Tim.Tim@SP wrote:Just installed it today... worked ok... gauges were a bit erratic and read my boost at 26 at idle. Drove down the road and it all went to 0 and said that I needed to reconnect... so I did, and it didnt help.
Look at the pics in the thread for "cable issues" to determine which cable you have. It might be you require the "updated" cable. Check it out.
RE: Re: Worked fine now nothing
Well it was a cable issue... but after 3 Units that had screens that were shifted I sent them back... When i did mod the cable so that it did work it was ok.... At one point it loaded the map half way and then said to disconnect the battery and try again... after 4 hours of the truck not being able to start... I finally got it to load the stock map. I got another 2 units in today to replace the bad one of mine and to have one in stock... opened the boxes and they both had shifted screens and old cables. Not something I want to sell.
Ended up going with the Edge... Installed the first time and no problems at all. I sell quite a bit of DS products and have been very pleased up until today.

This seems to be quite common with the Trinity. Its why I have a real hard time recommending them to anybody. They were released before they were ready and now the backlash is coming.
RE: Re: Worked fine now nothing
I just want to Clarify that I am in no way saying that diablosport makes a bad product... I install the predators, and Powerpucks all day long with no issues what so ever... but this unit indeed seems like it was rushed to market. But I am sure the 2nd gen units will be great!!!

It needs to be recognized that no computer/software based product will ever be "bug-free" and will constantly be evolving.
The Trinity is a damn robust unit and works quite well aside from a few minor issues here and there.
It could be the cable manufacturer that did not deliver the tolerances required on the connection port. Could have been the mold maker of the chassis. I'm sure it will all get worked out.
As long as DS continues to make good on excellent customer support, product development, and effortless RMAs, exchanges/upgrades, etc. I believe the Trinity will be the status quo for vehicle performance programming units.
