6.ol 9r10 hiccups

Post by bdog1 »

Hey Guys,

Had some recent work done on an '03 crew cab. Tech updated it to VXAP2N2.
Had to load the 9r10 to recognize. The 100hp makes it feel like it's missing. Sometimes when it fires up a puff of white comes out and idles erraticly. If you give it throttle it just "loads up" and no revs.

60 hp feels alright but not as much power as previous tune.

Any insight....is it an injector problem?

Cheers,
B

Just a couple to do with glow plug no. 7 and the p1000 . I'll check again tonight. I only ran the 100hp for a short trip around town.
Been running the tow tune for last few days with a 9000lb boat behind it. Runs fine but starts up with a funny idle is the best i can describe it. At this point i think i better go back to stock.

Now that i think about it, the puff only came because i started it and it idled erratically so i immediately shut it off. Upon restart it puffed white, in my opinion because it was loaded with diesel.

white smoke to me would indicate coolant, black smoke would indicate rich fuel mixture. I could be wrong though.

I had a guy with similar issues send me and email and he said its working great now so I believe i got it down. Hit me up with an email and an ori and i will take care of you guys, then ill release a new crom with the fix.

Just the 100 hp setting causes the rough start/idle. Thanks Don!

6.0 rough cold start.

Post by smorrisii »

Hold the phone on that fix, Don ! The truck started up fine two times, and then went to acting crazy again. I want to evaluate it a little longer to eliminate everythiing else. I want to try some more "true cold starts" because Im not sure the glow plug circuit is even working and Iwant to make sure it's not hardware related on my end. Thanks !!!!

White puff at 100 hp

Post by knelson454 »

I'm way late reading this post. I also have the white puff come out and a wierd start up on the 100 HP setting only. If I run the tow, 60, or stock, no white smoke at all, ever. Go back to 100 HP and puff, white smoke. What was your fix for this? I'd like to get that tune. I have the '03 VXAP2, no error codes at all. Thanks.
