OK, thought I should start a new thread instead of posting in the Announcement section any more. I am using the Predator U7194 part number 243367, version 9t08nl (was 9r07), vehicle is a 2008 Chevy Silverado EC 5.3L V8 Non-Flex Fuel. I keep receiving an error when trying to install the updated tune into the truck. The error happens when it is trying to create an original backup. When going into Performance tune it now has Original Backup listed as an option even with out there being a backup, I don't remember it being there before when no backup was present. I made sure the battery is fully charged, pulled as listed in the book, made sure nothing was on to drain power and no luck. When I got home today I hooked it back up to get screen shots of everything and I noticed that I now have an error code on the truck when i didn't before. I tried clearing the code and it didn't work. Pleas see pictures below.
I had no issues with the 9r07, I had to go back to the original tune a few weeks ago since my truck was going to be spending some time at the the dealership. I'm going to be putting the 9R07 back on the predator and seeing if it goes back on as soon as it stops raining. If it does I will try clearing the Error Code on the truck. If that all goes smooth I think I might try putting the original tune on again, download a fresh 9t08nl and see if that works. If it does I guess I'm waiting till Monday for the crew to be back in to help.
I am having a similar problem as sparky sparks. I was also told the new update 9t08nl had many improvements than the 9r07, but my 6.0 2008 silverado wouldnt take it either. Tried multiple times per this post: http://www.diablosport.com/index.php?na ... ic&t=17150. I am expecting to get more out of predator for the $$ and this new update is supposedly the ticket. I have been told to be patient, do some logging and some tweaking. I didnt know I had to do all of this, I thought it was plug and go type application. I will say though, I do like playing with it though. I still dont understand why an update would be released if it doesnt work in all vehicles prescribed.

there seems to be only a few guys with problems. sounds like more were fixed than not fixed. this happens in the electronics world. What are you expecting to get out of the predator for the $$? if you are thinking of diesel performance #s from a gas engine, ain't gonna happen.
No one said you HAD to tweak it. This unit is a plug and play, but if you want MORE out of it then there is the option to change a few things. Like Canuck said, if you are hoping for diesel performance numbers out of a gas engine then you are out of your mind. When you get into the diesel performance world, you are in a whole new ballgame by far!

I guess I got put into my place, thats ok. I am not really looking for diesel performance, just am hoping to get rid of the annoying throttle delay when lightly accelerating at 30-40 mph speeds, which was even worse with the AFM on. One thing positive I did notice last night while driving up a slight hill at 60 mph in cruise was that the truck was able to maintain speed without downshifting. Before, the trans would downshift on this hill, hence the engine must be putting out better with the tune. I tend to be inpatient, so I will hang tight, do a log and change what I need to. There seems to be a lot of discussion about dialing in LTFT's. What is this?

LTFTs = Long Term Fuel Trims or part throttle fuel delivery. Since you spend most of your time at part throttle, it is VERY important to adjust these first. When done correctly, you will be getting the most mileage, most HP and best throttle response.
I work in IT and when someone reports an issue the hardest part of trying to resolve the issue it you can't see what they are doing. I tried to include a picture of everything they might need along with a short description.
I don't work in IT but I am pretty much THE guy to go to around here (and within my entire family) on computer issues, and they'll call me with a problem on the phone and 90% of the time all I can say is "I'd have to see it to honestly tell you anything."
Which results in me having to "work" when I'm supposed to be realaxing everytime I go to my hometown.
