Our software is windows based.
The current version you have should work fine, but if it goes to the dealer for any reason, you will want to update it for sure.

My turbo vane positioning sensor went out a few months ago and returned it back to stock and they didnt say anything about it. What does the new software have to do with taking it to the dealer? Is it because they can detect that i had it hooked up? And by the way i have to take my truck in to the dealer this thursday because of my intermediate steering shaft is bad. Should i try and update it?
Thanks

The reason you want to go back to stock is so if they reflash the PCM you dont have to jump through hoops to get the tool reset, nor do you ever want to roll into a dealer for warranty work with an aftermarket tune installed.
Restore the backup, go to the dealer, update the pred, then put it back in.
Thanks
Mike
