I have been reading about the part throttle shift firmness problems with the 87 octane tune. I am having the same problem with the 93 octane tune. The truck (2k silverado) shifts fine when driving normal but once it gets floored it then shifts VERY hard during part throttle upshifts. I also have to shut the truck off to get it to reset itself.

I find it curious that I am the only one (that i could find on the forum) having this problem with the 93 octane tune. I did originally install the 87 octane tune then went to the 93 tune. I didn't notice the problem until the 93 tune but I don't remember flooring it with the 87 tune either. The only adjustments I have done were to turn off the TM, adjusted the timing up 10% across the board and turn my idle speed up 150rpm, which oddly enough, is probably my favorite adjustment. I HATE the factory idle rpm.

Thanks for any help/suggestions on the shift firmness issue.

**UPDATE** I restored the OEM tune then loaded the 93 octane tune again. I modified all of the setting that I mentioned above exceptfor the 3rd TM setting. I left it on and now the part throttle shift slam is gone. Even after a full throttle run. I don't notice any performance difference with it left on.

Both tunes should have the same issue if it is present due to the fact that the trans cal is the same in both tunes. If you want, shoot me your original backup and i will make you a good shifting tune for 93 octane.

I kind of have the same shift problems witth my 05 Avalanche. Slams from 1>2 under wot. I reduced the WOT pressure 20% for the 1>2 shift and 15% 2>3. Should I change shift speed too? The kick down does not feel right either, I have to almost floor it sometimes to kick it down What changes are you making to the tunes or do I need some kind of custom tune for the shifts and shift pressure? I want a firmer shift without the slamming.

If I reduce shift pressure but increase shift speed, does one cancel the other?

The issue is with shift pressure.
Pressure and speed are two different things, and the shifts are already set to their max speed in the tunes.
