Keep CMRs in Predator when reflashing to original tune?

HI... Needed to bring the Jeep SRT8 to the dealer for some basic warranty work, and wanted to put the stock tune in to be extra safe. The only option I saw when returning the stock tune wound up eliminating the custom CMR tune I had saved in the Predator.

I have the stock tune back in, and used my PC to put the custom CMR back in the predator... (I'll re-upload to the Jeep after the dealer) But any way to keep from cleaning out the custom CMR when I put the stock tune back in? I'd like to skip reloading the CMR to the predator from my PC each time if possible..

no... that is normal operation for the predator... whenever the original backup tune is restored to a vehicle, the custom tunes will get erased from it.

reason being is... say you were to sell the predator to someone, or went to use it on a different vehicle yourself... well, when you restore original backup to the first vehicle in order to unlock the predator, you would not want the custom tune for that vehicle to still be on there and possibly be selected by accident and installed on a different vehicle...

so, when original backup tunes are restored to vehicles, they also remove the custom tunes from the predator as well... and you will have to re-import the custom tune to the predator each time you do that - standard procedure...

So if I went to a shop to have my CMR installed, then will that shop have a copy for me if I needed to revert back to stock setup for i.e. warranty work?

they should keep it on file, yes... I keep all mine - have 100's....

and they can/should also email you the tune file so you have it yourself at home... that way you could always re-import it whenever ya needed to, without having to go back to the shop for that.
