Questions before install

I have some questions before I install the Predator software into my 2009 RT Charger w/R&T option.
I plan on using either the 91 or 93 option with CAI. I also have a 180 stat that I am going to use.
My question is do I in install the software first and then change the fan settings and the transmission settings (I'd like firmer shifts), or does it even matter what gets done first?
I have also read that some people have had issues that their cars have been surging badly unless they disable the MDS. Will I need to disable mine or does that affect only the Challenger?
Last question is if I install the stock tune back into the car, will that also reset the fan, tranmission and MDS settings back to stock too or will I need to reset them back to stock manually?
I am using the U7135 model with the 9r18 revision.

It doesn't matter what you do first. You can just install the performance tune first and see how it runs (you can always adjust the tune once it has been installed) or, adjust your tune parameters before you install the tune. If you decide to adjust the tune before the first install.... try the following:

Plug the predator into your car. It will read and save your stock tune. Then select the performance tune you want to install. You should see an option to modify parameters. You can select and change your fan settings there.

Don't know anything about the MDS. I do know that if you select the "Return To Stock" option, it will return EVERYTHING back to stock.

You will have a "Quick Adjust" option where you can change some of your settings for your trans and other stuff. If you change anything in the "Quick Adjust", you will also need to reset the quick adjust should you ever want to return the car to completely stock.

MDS surge will be mildly surprising, but it shouldn't affect your driving (unless you over-react). The first time I experienced it I took my foot off the throttle, realized what it was, and I haven't reacted to it since. If you want the 2+ mpg extra on a long trip MDS is worth it. Around town (if MDS surge annoys you) you can just disable it with the Predator.

Once you start making serious mods (catback, cam, heads) you will most likely decide to turn off MDS fulltime. With anything other than mild cam changes - MDS will have to be shut off anyway.
