i just installed the new 9r08 crom and i noticed that they have an 87 tune and a 93 tune now. before it was an 87 and a "performance tune". i was under the impression that the performance tune was a 91 octane tune which was great for me because i can't buy 93 anywhere... should i go back to my old crom??? thanks for the help...!

performance tune requires minimum 91 octane so you are good to go.

there is no more 91 octane tune with the new update...
the tunes are for 87 octane, or 93 octane... that's it... no more 91 "performance" tune...
if you want to use the 93 octane tune, just go into modify tune, into the spark advance settings, and for each rpm range, remove about 2* or 3* of timing... that should lower it enough so that you don't get any knock/ping at WOT...
if you still get some, then lower it a little more and try it out...

Hmm, I loaded the 87 octane tune and bumped up the timing 4*, 2*, 2*

what octane gas are you using?
and the timing adjustments are for WOT only... so you should do a log and see what kind of KR you're getting...

We're also stuck using 91 octane pump gas here as it's all that is available
Where is this magic land that has 93? my guess is mainly in the Eastern states
