Predator/Dataviewer Innovate Logworks Plugin.

Post by duster360 »

There was talk several months ago about this but never went anywhere.

I'm not sure if the goal was to add Innovate A/F data into the Dataviewer or add DV PIDs into Logworks.

I'd like to work on this(one of our software engineers owes me a favor). Any information or existing code thats still exits toward this effort would be appreciated.

This was all being done on Innovates end....would allow you to play pred logs on their logworks software.

If this code were available it would be helpfull.

gotchya...I recall it took a lot of convincing on the part of or former DV developer to get the OK to give this code to Innovate...not sure how feasible it would be.

Just a thought, go opensource with the DataViewer. It would allow greater development and open code ==> better development.

LogWorks 3 Software Developer's Kit
The Innovate MTS (Modular Tuning System) SDK makes it easy for Window's programmers to input data from Innovate products directly into your application. The SDK "hides" the complexity of the MTS serial protocol, allows you to write device-independent programs, be future-device compatible, and work seamlessly with LogWorks 3. Download here.

If you make or support any ECU-tuning software, piggy-back, chip-tuner, or data logger, and you want real-time wideband input (multiple AFR, EGT, MAP, etc.), consider utilizing this powerful and simple SDK. Simply: 1. Install LogWorks 3.01 (or newer) if not already installed ; 2. Unzip SDKSetup.exe; and 3. Run "SDKSetup.exe". A new program group folder called “MTS SDKâ€

I wish to know what has happened with this. We have had this with efilive for a few years now.... VERY VERY handy when using the histograms.

I have made a spreadsheet that handles the interpolation, but I still have to enter data manually... I will try and work to see how can I do this automatically using excel.

Still... If it could be done on your end the way it should be done it would be a great tuning aid for MAF and VE curves as you can use a LOT more data than single points.

Best advice I have here is to use a Trinity for logging with any WB hooked up.

i tried using the inovative/predator plug in for log works, but my pids are all screwy. Nothing is accurate, im sure that can be adjusted to work properly though. You can also add your own pids. It was on the innovate forum but last i check it was down.

Thats a dangerous gamble for diablosport as the trinity does not support everyones needs. aka, not everyone wants a dash mounted tuner.

Sct could hold more tunes with their handheld, you beat that #. However your still lacking the ability to use a wideband with your handheld.

Sct can, but has to be hardwired. A simple plug in software would have gave diablosport the advantage plus a combo deal with innovate could have been offered with a predator purchase.

This would have helped both diablosport and innovate, not to mention the customer would have a combo that they knew would work togethor. I guess no such luck.

We provided them with everything they needed to get it done, not much more we could do ;)

As far as logging a WB to a handheld, the InTune, the Predators replacement, will have this ability for sure.

Just this morning I had luck getting the DSDV .csv file into LogWorks 3.0. It takes some bs manual configuration in Excel but once its in, LW gives you easy, breezy charts, histograms, math channels, plots,,you name it.

I don't care for having to do tedious data manipulation but it works.

Here's a chart I made showing WGDC % table value(TURBO WG RPM TERM) and underneath it in () it shows the ACTUAL WG DC%(average) being used. I could also add a math channel showing the % differences in the average.

Is there any way to get DV to spit out a .dif file already set up for LW3.0 insertion?

All I had to do was rearrange the data columns. Its a pita on the big logs and +30 PIDs but it works.

The easy data manipulation is a huge help with CMR tuning and Logworks is much more easier to use and versatile than CMRHisto. With CMRhisto i couldn't do any wastgate tuning.

I'm sure jimb can whip up a quicky fix.

It would be more awsomer if the Logworks A/F and DV log could be synched without the use of a Trinity,,,,,but i digress

Are you still talking about the vaporware device InTune?
