After setting LTFT's, having low speed issues

Post by denali6.0 »

I am having issues with my vehicle at low speeds after adjusting my LTFTs. I follow the instructions (which are very well written and wish the manual was more like) by Lew and after doing so I noticed at low speeds and idle my vehicle is having issues. The AC gets warm, the RPMs go to 500 almost immediately after letting go of the gas, power stearing is really hard to turn, at idle it cycles between 400 and 600 rpm sometimes, and when I stomp on the gas it hesitates for a sec or 2 and then goes.

I unfortunately have no logging, but my vehicle was a +12.5% based on my eyes watching it (no logging). I reduced that to about +1% by offsetting 9%. I noticed the issue almost right away after uploading the offset. I then did the PE, because I was about .8. It is now at about .9. I still have issues, so I increased my LTFT from -9% to -6%, but still has the issues.

Should I just restart or am I doing something wrong? I have the 7195 and a 03 GMC Denali. Also, what are the chances of getting my Diablo to log data? I paid the same as others who get logging.

Thanks for any help.

RE: After setting LTFT

after you uploaded the tune adjustments, did you run the truck for about 30 miles or so to let the new adjustments settle in and get relearned???

it will take a little bit for the new fueling changes to be relearned by the trucks computer... When I make changes to my car, I notice that my idle is higher for a little while, then it settles back in to where it should be.

as far as the AC and power steering, that's not tune related, not sure what's going on there.

I have driven it about 30-40 miles when I had it at -9. I just made the -6 change yesterday but haven't driven more than 10 miles. I think my AC/power steering problems are because of the idle issue. Normally when I come up to a stop, the idle slowly goes to about 500-600 rpm. It seems to just go straight there when I let off the gas and slow down. I have a hard time pulling into parking spaces would be an example of when I have PS issues. I may have gone to lean maybe...I wish I could log my data...

It does sound like what Monte said, that the trims have not yet fully relearned.
You could try raising the idle to see if that helps.

Thanks
