is this a newer version?

I'm fixing to buy a used U7198 tuner.....

The guy said he bought the unit new in April of 2009. Assuming he's telling the truth(he has great feedback), should this be a newer unit that can data log and hook to a pc?

He said it is internet upgradable.....

have him find out the revision number to make sure...

when it boots up and is at the main menu, there's a number at the top of the screen.. that's the revision number...

it needs to be a 9rXX number in order to be one of the newer versions that can save data logs and be internet updatable.

also, make sure the last tune written was the original backup... if he restored the original backup to his vehicle, then it will be unlocked and you can use it.

if the original backup was not restored to the vehicle, it will still be locked to it and you will not be able to use it on your car.
