WOW! BIG LEAP IN PERFORMANCE!!! What's changed!!!!????

Hi,
I've had a CL7140 Predator for about 2 years. Originally purchased with a C&L 'Racer' CAI kit. My CL7140 was running firmware 8r26.
I heard someone else raving about the new firmware as regards the extra performance he was getting out of his car. I didn't really understand how good it can be, considering my car has been running fine since the 8r26 Racer tune went in.
Anyway, I was intrigued. So I proceeded to update my Predator to 9r03.
Well, the car has been transformed. It's a LOT more powerful than it was before. It goes like a freight train in any gear now. It seems to be getting better as well... I guess the ECU is learning a new fuel map.
The car has totally woken up. It's like it is been possessed!
I've just got to ask... what the hell was wrong with the 8r26 tune if the 9r03 tune is so good!!!???
I never expected such a leap in forward thrust by a simple Predator update. I've now been wondering what I have been missing!!!
Another question though. I realise that the tunes provided by you and C&L might not be 100% optimised for my particular car... because you have to tune with some sort of 'safety blanket' in mind. By safety blanket, I mean perhaps a point or two retarded on the timing. Just in case there are cars out there that 'knock' on a fully optimised tune.
What I want to know is, is the timing set with this in mind? Or any other setting for that matter?
I'm trying to work out if I can extract even more performance by tweaking some settings that little bit further. Of course, if I go too far, I can wind it back a step or two.
What's the story on this?
Oh and BTW, thanks for such a superb Predator update. The car really flies now!!!
Cheers
