engine temp & knock

Post by 09Laramie »

is it more likely that you will see some ST KNK at WOT if you do so before the engine warms up to it's normal operating temperature?

I figure it probably causes less wear on your engine if you let it warm up fully before doing anything at WOT, just trying to figure out if that and knock are related.

Laramie what # did you finally get your st knk down to on a WOT run? Your running the 93 oct tune *modified* like I am right?
I got rid of all my LT KNK by adding fuel (at least I guess thats what did it) I'm still getting 3.5 - 4 ST KNK although I havent had time to go out and do my 2nd set of data logging runs and I think I still need to add some more fuel in the higher RPM ranges.

anything related to my progress with tweaking my tune is in the other thread http://www.diablosport.com/index.php?na ... 9&start=15

I'm still tweaking the 87 tune before I try out the 93 tune.

Started this thread because I took a log and saw some knock that hadn't been there before, and the only thing I could think of that was different was that the engine hadn't warmed up completely yet. Trying to see if somebody knows for sure if engine warm up and knock are related.
