2009 Charger shift firmness

I have been trying to set the shift firmness to increased on my car and it doesn't seem any different. I select increased firmness, the tool tells me to turn key off/on. After that do I need to re-write my tune or do I just unplug the Predator. Do the quick adjusts need to me done before the tune is written to the car?
