I went to modify tune and adjusted the shift points 1-2 @5800rpms and 2-3@6000 and after i download the tune i went for a test drive it just stays in 1st gear then goes to neutral then back to 1st. Any idea why this is happening? Ive tried it twice and got the same result.

You're not alone. I did that too. Your trans will shift, but not until you reach the RPM level you set. You're not in neutral, you're just rolling faster than the partial throttle you 've backed off to. If you floor it, it will pull until it upshifts at your setting. It is misleading because once you get into that mod to that point, you can't back out it seems. A manual for the 09 Ram 5.7 tool (u7137) would be great to have.

We have a truck scheduled to come in hopefully this week to address this issue.

Any luck with the Guinea Pig truck? I don't mind shgifting at 5800 RPM's at WOT, but, all the time is tiring and very detrimental to my goodstanding license.

I'm not really one to use these stupid yellow happy face things, but the sly smirk/smile right after the look of terror was me yesterday.

After speaking with Mike about another truck doing this, if you guys send him your last tune written via email (
[email protected]), then he said he can make you a custom tune to fix the issue until a new crom (revision) can be tested and published as an update. Making the croms is a lot more complicated and requires more work than fixing you up in a custom tune.

Here's the problem. I'm also part of another thread discussing why we CANNOT download the "Last tune written" to a computer. it just does nothing. I'll try to find the thread/post about this.

For all you too young to remember setting your points at .019 with a matchbook cover, this is what we call a "CATCH 22" situation.

This is happening to me too. Will this happen if I don't adjust the parameters and just load the canned tune?? Right now I'm pretty disappointed cause I have a $375 paperweight on my desk!

Just leave the WOT shift points alone. You can use all the other settings with no problems. Partial throttle upshifts working out fine. Fuel +/- works fine too. Canned tunes work fine. Just don't mess with that one setting until they figure this out. If you use 93 tune, buy good gas! It's worth it.

Have you tried to send them your original backup and tell them what fuel you will be using? They should be able to apply the 93 octane cal or 87 octane cal to the original base file.

I installed the 87 tune and made not modifications. Works great. It would be nice to change some of the shift points though. I hope they figure out the problem.

sbarbs...You can still change partial throttle 1-2 and 2-3 shifts no problem.
concoursd....thanks, I didn't know that. I'll contact DS tomorrow.
